I am a homeschool mom, night owl, graphic designer and photographer. I love all things creative! Before my daughter was born I worked at a private Christian school teaching art to grades K-12. I have worked as a portrait studio manager, event photographer, graphic designer and website developer. I began homeschooling my daughter with 6th grade, she is now in 11th and taking college classes at the community college through dual enrollment. I am a leader for the Tenderhearts with my daughter’s American Heritage Girls Troop and like that they focus on community service. I work part time as a graphic designer. I look forward to teaching art, design, and photography skills here on Luma Learn.

I grew up attending a small Baptist Church with my family and accepted Jesus as my savior at the age of 9 and was baptized at the age of 12. My family attends a Southern Baptist Church where I sing in the choir. I have always loved singing hymns with the congregation and being part of the choir. I enjoy having those uplifting lyrics in my mind as I go through my week. I like to spend time journaling in my Bible as I focus on studying scripture. My favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”
Scrapbooking is one of my favorite hobbies because it combines my photography & graphic design skills with story telling to create wonderful keepsakes for my family & myself. Time flies and scrapbooking is a fun way to preserve memories.
When I’m not being artistic, I can often be found working on home improvement projects in our recently purchased fixer upper. A miter saw is basically a paper cutter with more power 🙂 I have installed flooring in 2 bathrooms and a laundry room, done a lot of painting, resurfaced countertops, patched drywall, & installed baseboard molding. I am currently building a bathroom vanity and making new doors for our kitchen cabinets. Eventually I may even finish unpacking our boxes…
I like to spend time relaxing at the pool, get away from everything and go camping, and spend time with the family playing board games. We also have a cat who likes to play fetch.
I enjoy planning parties (mostly birthday parties for my daughter) and tend to go a bit overboard on my themes. Themes range from Carousel Tea Parties to Project Runway to Hamilton to Alice in Wonderland. When she was little I did most of the work myself, she will be sweet sixteen this year and now we have fun planning them together.
