I was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. In 2004 I moved to Taiwan to teach English as a Second Language and work with the local churches as part of a mission team. I spent three years in total teaching there and it was a wonderful experience. For the past eight years I have lived with my amazing husband in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Currently, I work as a tutor helping children and occasionally adults improve their reading, writing and mathematical skills.
My faith journey has been a gradual process of learning about God’s love for me and Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for my sins. I grew up going to church and do not remember a time when I did not believe in God. However, it was not until I was an adult that I began to realize how God speaks to us in deeply personal ways, whether that is through the Bible, the words of a friend or the different circumstances we find ourselves in. God continues to teach me about His love and forgiveness for me in a variety of different ways and I am learning to trust Him more and more every day.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, photography and scrapbooking. I enjoy reading anything from mystery novels to Christian Living books. When I travel with my husband I love taking pictures and creating scrapbooks out of the photos I have taken.
