My bachelor’s degree is in Deaf Education (2003) and I have a master’s of Education in Special Education (2006) both from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. I spent 11 years teaching Deaf Education in the public school and now I am teaching Deaf and Special Education for a charter school. I have also been teaching for VIPKid online for 3 years.
I have a strong faith in God and was raised in a Christian family. I dedicated my life to the Lord at an early age in the AWANA program at church. I have grown in my walk with the Lord since then and made the commitment to be baptized while in college. I am so blessed to found our current church home, Arapaho Road Baptist Church in Garland, TX where my husband, Ryan serves by running sound for the services on a rotation basis and I sing in the choir.
I have a love for the arts and started taking ballet, tap, and jazz when I was five years old. I continued taking dance through college and obtained a minor in Dance with my bachelor’s degree. While in graduate school at Stephen F. Austin, I started taking classes, in clogging at a local recreation center in 2005. I became a Certified Clogging Instructor through the National Clogging Organization – CLOG in 2007. I started teach clogging lessons for the team in Nacogdoches, the Rhythm Rockers along with a team in Rusk, TX, the Cherokee Cloggers. Upon graduation with my master’s I continued teaching clogging and taking classes in the Dallas/Fort Worth areas. I currently teach at They Branch Connection (active senior center) in Farmer’s Branch, Texas.
I also love to travel, watch movies, and do needlework called tatting in my free time. I am also a busy mom to a beautiful 4 year old boy, Langston.
