Hello! My name is Teacher Marcia. I am a mother of 3 children. I have my Bachelors of Arts in Education with an emphasis in English, social studies, and gifted education. I have my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been working in the school system for over 25 years.
I also teach Sunday school to a group of high school juniors and seniors. They are a joy to teach! Teaching them gives me an insight into their world and what is important to them.
I have a passion for writing my own curriculum. This is evident in my brick and mortar job! Because I currently teach fourth and fifth graders who are enrolled in the intellectually gifted program at my school, I do not have curriculum. I write my own! That drives my passion.
As I create my own curriculum, I talk with my students about their interests. I then use this information to support my research as I design activities for my students. I hope to be able to write a book one day filled with resources I have used in my classroom.
I was raised in church and became a Christian when I was 11 years old. My faith is very important to me. My husband and I work together to encourage each other and our children as we are all on our faith journey. We also enjoy helping our children’s friends and always open our home to them.
I love teaching students, and I look forward to sharing my faith and educating your child. I want to teach your child how to think, not what to think. Learning material is awesome, but being able to use what one has learned and apply it to life is the best!

As I have traveled on my faith journey, God has always been there for me during both highs and lows. He has been there for me when I have celebrated receiving rewards, getting married, having children, and simply having good days. I have also experienced many tough times. During these valleys, I have always experienced God’s protection. Just knowing God was there to get me through those times has made all the difference in my life.
One of my favorite life verses is Romans 8:28. It talks about how God tells us He takes the good, the bad, and the ugly, and He uses it for our good. It blows my mind when I think about how God is in the details of the lives of the ones who love Him.
As I travel on my faith journey, God has sent me to places and to be a part of things I never thought I would experience. There have also been many times I have failed HIm, but He continues to be faithful and to work in my life. Because of this, I pray that I plant seeds in the lives of others so that they may see Jesus.
I also understand the importance of God using my life experiences to do what He wants in my life. This is something I have learned along the way of my faith journey. I do not always understand what is going on in my life, but I do know the One who is guiding my experiences. He is the One who takes the good, the bad, and the ugly to make me into the person He wants me to be.

I have several hobbies and interests that I enjoy. Some things I like to do are reading, painting, and cross-stitching. I hardly ever go anywhere without a book! I also enjoy spending time working in my yard. That is one of the most peaceful things I do. Another interest that I have is organizing. It is hard work, but it always worth the time and effort when everything has a place and is in its place!
I also enjoy having many different hobbies and interests with my family. My family and I enjoy going to church together. We are all busy, but that is one thing we can all do together. It is always a great time of reflection and taking time to hear from God. Another activity I enjoy with my family is going for evening walks in our neighborhood. We take our dogs and wave to neighbors as we get in our steps for the day. Participating in this activity is also a good way for us to relax after a busy day and enjoy talking with one another. I also love to attend sporting events with my family. We are big sports fans and can often be found watching a high school game or being in front of the television for a college game.
Having hobbies and interests really add to the enjoyment of my life. Whether I am by myself or with family, I always look forward to this time. What makes all of this even better is when I can share what I have learned with others.
