Hi there! My name is Lisa Newhouse. I have my Bachelors of Science degree in Educational Media from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. I also hold a current Minnesota teaching license for School Library Media Specialist. I have 10 years of teaching experience with approximately 1 year of field experience prior to that. I spent 8 years teaching technology, reading, and research to grades K-12 in public and private schools. For the past three years, I have taught English to Second Language Learners online. I also have many hours of private tutoring experience in writing, reading, and elementary math. I am currently homeschooling my 4 year old (preschool). Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy camping, hiking, and traveling.
I was born and raised Catholic. While attending college, I visited various churches, but in the end decided that the Catholic Church had the fullness of faith that I was searching for. We attend church as a family every Sunday and occasionally during the week as well. We attend a prayer group on Saturday mornings. I am involved with a Catholic Mom’s Group and a Women’s Bible Study where we come together to discuss our faith and deepen our relationship with Christ.
I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors. We like hiking, camping, and traveling. I also enjoy reading and learning more about my faith.
