My name is Charlie Eve Ryan (pen name), I am a happily married mama of two young kids. I have worked as a professional writer/illustrator for the last 10 years in children’s book publishing. I absolutely love sharing my bookmaking passion with young kids. I work both traditionally and digitally with a mixed media approach.
I have previously worked in education as a substitute assistant teacher for Perkiomen Valley School district. I mostly worked with elementary-aged children in grades K through 5 both one on one and assisting teachers in the traditional classrooms. I loved working with children with special needs assisting them with task/time management, math, reading, and writing as well as assisting teachers with students in the regular classroom in all subjects and as a library aide when needed. I have also taught English online for over a year.
Prior to working as a writer/illustrator, I was a patient care technician in the pediatric ICU at All Children’s Hospital in Florida for 3 years and went on to become a Licenced Practical Nurse at a cancer center in Tampa, FL for two years.
I absolutely love working with kids and especially helping them express themselves creatively through art, books, and writing.
My work is represented by Charlotte Wegner of Prospect Agency. I work with a variety of trade children’s book publishers, as well as educational publishers and children’s magazines. My various clients include Page Street Kids, Boyds Mill Kane, Amicus Ink, McGraw-Hill, Highlights for Children, and Ladybug Magazine.
I am the author/illustrator of the traditionally published picture book, BLUE CAT, published by Boyds-Mill Kane in NY as well as the illustrator for WHO IS MAKING A MESS, published by Amicus Ink and SATURDAYS ARE FOR STELLA, published by Page Street Kids. I would love the opportunity to share my skills with the kids on your platform. Happy creating!
