I love this quote by Benjamin Franklin: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” I hope that as students join me in class I not only teach them, but I involve them! I have been a teacher for ten years, and I love it! I like to have a structured, well-prepared classroom but also laid back enough that students feel comfortable asking questions, joining discussions, and getting involved.

After receiving a science degree, I spent several years working as a Health Inspector, Drinking Water Inspector, and an Environmental Specialist. Later as I started to transition away from the science field, I spent some time helping people who have a traumatic brain injury before I became a teacher, author, and ministry leader. In addition to Luma Learn, I am also an ESL teacher, an online English/Science teacher, a homeschooling mom of three, a Sunday school teacher, an author of twelve children’s books, and I help run a ministry that provides teaching resources for kids around the world.

I am so thankful for my grandparents! My parents divorced when I was five years old, and I did not grow up in a Christian household. However, my grandparents would talk to me about Jesus and take me to church every chance they got. It was in my grandparents’ church that I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

I remember having so many questions as a kid about my faith. And as I reached my teenage years, I regrettably saw my grandparents less and less because of my “busy” life. A lot of my questions remained unanswered until I took in-depth discipleship courses. My eyes were opened! I truly developed a personal relationship with the Lord, was called to be a teacher, and I am now blessed to be helping others disciple children around the world.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with family, writing books, hosting a kid-friendly podcast, and trying to get my two parakeets to talk (which I have not been very successful at). Two things that people find unusual about me are: I don’t like chocolate, and I have 38 nieces and nephews!

    Currently, there are no courses.
