    I am excited to launch this journey with Luma Learn! I will be offering my first 10 courses at a deep discount. My courses reflect my personal passions (botany and travel) and my education background (business and finance)! If you are interested in a course within the scope of these topics that you do not yet see posted, message me, and I will look into creating them!

    As a follower of Christ, Biblical precepts form the foundation of my teaching. Christ has called us to love and serve one another. I strive to daily do this! I grew up overseas on the mission field in the South Pacific. I returned to the USA to study accounting and business administration, and upon completion of my degree, I scooted right back out to serve as a US Peace Corps volunteer within the Small Business sector in Nicaragua. Upon return to the USA, I worked in Human Resources (salaries, benefits and payroll) at Point Loma Nazarene University – my alma mater. After a few years in the city of San Diego, my husband and I decided to move east to live in the country. When my children were younger, we homeschooled; now they are doing a combination of online and in-person education with our local school district. I manage our family real-estate investments, have a u-pick flower farm, and teach online. I serve as a teacher, mentor, and Bible study leader at our church. Additionally, I work with our local school district as a substitute teacher. I have studied, read, participated in, and facilitated many biblical financial studies. Organizations, such as Crown Financial Ministries (Crown.org), Compass – Finances God’s Way (Compass1.org), and Dave Ramsey’s “The Total Money Makeover” have profoundly impacted the way I view finances.

    As a young girl on the mission field, I knew I was different than my parents and siblings. One evening as my parents were away, I asked my older sister why I was different, and she wisely responded that it was because I had not asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. As she led me to pray and ask Jesus to forgive me and come live in my heart, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that a change had come over me.

    Throughout my life, I have been grateful for that experience at such a young age. I have not always honored God with my choices, actions or thoughts, but recalling the commitment I made as a child, and God’s mercy and grace, I have been able to experience forgiveness as an adult. I pray that God uses me to bring people into a trusting relationship with Him, just as my sister was able to convey how much I needed God’s forgiveness and the Holy Spirit’s presence in my life.

    I enjoy gardening, hiking with my family and dogs , spending time in the water, and travelling!
