Hello there! Thank you for jumping to this page to learn about me. My name is Cathy Beaver. I graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts and earned my teaching credential with the state of California. I have over 27 years of teaching experience. In addition to teaching in public and private schools, I had the privilege of homeschooling my own three children from the beginning of their educational journey. Throughout my years of homeschooling, I became passionate about Christian Classical Education as I witnessed how well it worked to prepare my children for success in college and beyond. I am so excited to have the opportunity to partner with you to help your student to think critically, to discern truth and to articulate persuasively.

Here is what some of my students and parents of students have to say:

“While academically rigorous, Mrs. Beaver’s dynamic and interactive teaching style inspires students’ active involvement in the learning process. She cares about each student and innately reaches individual students of differing learning styles, encouraging them to stretch and grow. In his twenties now, my son continues to retain the valuable lessons he learned in Mrs. Beaver’s courses.” –Debbie (parent of student)

“I absolutely loved having Mrs. Beaver as my teacher. She taught in a way that kept class fun and entertaining but we always learned a ton of stuff. She always challenged us to learn more and become better students without being overbearing. She taught me lessons and tactics that I used all throughout high school and still continue to use heading into my second year of college.” –Leah (former student)

I learned about the saving grace of Jesus during VBS when I was 8 years old. I did not grow up in a Christian home but I accepted Christ’s gift of salvation on the bus ride home from VBS that day. Through God’s providential hand on my life, He led me to a Christian high school, a Christian college and several other faith learning opportunities, including teaching Precept bible studies and being a MOPS children’s program coordinator. Today, I am continuing to grow in my faith and to rely on his power and strength for my journey. Ad Dei gloriam! To God be the glory!

When I am not teaching, you might find me soaking in the sun at the beach or curled up with a cup of tea and a great book or spending time with my adorable dog, Bentley.
