Greetings and salutations (If I may borrow a little Eugene from Adventures in Odyssey)! I’m Mr. Caleb. I have been teaching kids the Bible as a volunteer, part-time, and professional for 13 years in church and para-church ministries. I have a BS in Religion and a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies, both from Liberty University (online). I have the academic credentials to teach kids about Jesus and have been doing so for forever!
There is no ministry I love more than ministry to kids. I think I was saved as a child myself, so I know how crucial the early years can be. Kids are becoming who they are and deciding what they will believe!
As the years of teaching have passed, I have been overwhelmingly blessed to see the glisten in the eyes of children as they come to awe and marvel at God through His amazing stories. I don’t know if there is anything cooler than telling kids about the things God has done, reminding them, “this actually happened!” and watching them gasp and smile at each other in excitement. “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise” (Mt. 21:16).
By God’s goodness I have learned to communicate to the church kids who have heard over and over again as well as to those who are brand new to it all. I have seen God bless when I tell kids about Him – I love to teach them and they love to listen and, in the process, get to know God in incredible ways. I have seen with my own eyes belief in God follow the knowledge of His actions in the heart of a child. It is a joy to my soul.
I keep my Bible teaching simple. I tell the stories and let God handle the rest. You will be amazed at how many profound lessons for kids – and adults – are in God’s stories. If you are looking for someone who can keep it fun, keep it real, keep it meaningful, and help your kids love learning about the Bible, I’m your man! You might even learn something along the way!
Come join me on this journey, and we’ll all have fun together!

It is hard to say exactly when I was saved – after all, “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh . . .” (John 3:8) – but I know where my faith journey has taken me. When I was five years old, my pastor preached on hell. I remember my big sister helping me pray to be saved, and for many years I believed I was saved at that time.
During my teen years, however, Satan’s attacks intensified, and the man-made religion that had found its way into my faith began to fail me. I never questioned the truth, but I grew cold towards God. As I moved through my teen years, however, God did something wonderful for me. He showed me that the Bible can be taken to mean what it says. As I began to believe God’s words, religion melted away and was replaced by simple faith in God and His Word. If I wasn’t saved as a five-year-old, I was saved then, and to this day I’m counting on nothing but Jesus to save me. My walk in the truth has grown since that time. I still have my weaknesses, but “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day.” “And all God’s children sing glory, glory, hallelujah. He reigns!”
My number one interest is my wife – take that however you want ? She is by far the most selfless person I have ever know, and the greatest disappointment in my life to date is that I’m still not the man she deserves! Coming in a close second is my son. I’m not going to lie, being a dad to a preposterously energetic boy is not easy, but I love it – and him! There is nothing in the world more worthwhile than ministering to my family!
The hobby I love most is the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you are a serious sports fan, you understand what I mean when I say they are more like extended family than a hobby. I also love Pittsburgh hockey! I love to read (Shaara, Henty, and Lewis to name a few), love to write, love to coach, and love to teach. I also enjoy the outdoors, movies, and Mount & Blade (you fellow nerds out there may know what that is). Perhaps my greatest unfulfilled interest is to work from home, but I’m still working on that one!
