Where do you begin learning how to take notes? How do you manage all of the reading that the teacher assigns? How on Earth do you begin writing an essay? Procrastination… what is that? Tests… they make you anxious?
These are a just a few of the questions that will be tackled in this course. This class will teach students proven strategies and methods to maximize their learning abilities. Students will be guided to utilize the methods that are presented and given opportunities to try out the various techniques to discover what works best for them. This course will follow the guide of the Crash Course Study Skills program and will elaborate on what is discussed there as to how to implement those strategies into real life. Learning is an individual journey, but we can certainly benefit from other’s successes.

Lesson 1 – Note Taking – methods for maximizing note taking efforts
Lesson 2 – Reading Assignments – how to manage all of the reading assigned and glean the necessary information for the test
Lesson 3 – Memory – strategies to increase your brain’s ability to memorize information
Lesson 4 – Planning and Organization – creating and implementing organizational tactics and strategies
Lesson 5 – Focus and Concentration – keeping yourself on task when it counts the most
Lesson 6 – Procrastination – how to stave off the tendency to put off until tomorrow what needs to be done today, not the last minute
Lesson 7 – Studying for Exams – systematically how to break down the info, ask questions and prepare for that upcoming test
Lesson 8 – Test Anxiety – managing the butterflies that can easily derail our efforts to excel
Lesson 9 – Papers and Essays – systematic methods to compose and organize those papers to maximize the grades
