“I just took the university Spanish placement test and I tested out of their college Spanish requirement! (But I’m planning on continuing and going to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country.)“ (student Anna, summer 2019)
UPDATE: The upper level courses are usually small in size. If you want to take this course, but the time is wrong for you, there is a chance we could change the time if convenient to everybody. Please contact instructor if that is the case.
Spanish at a higher level — on to infinity and beyond! Since students have more ability with the language, things get interesting!
In Spanish 4 (in the instructor’s state, considered Honors Spanish), we continue into more advanced Spanish verbs and whole language. We will use the second book of Excelerate Spanish as a spine, combined with novels, extra readings, the Bible, music and culture. Families will have the choice to vote on whether to pursue CLEP prep or not. If we do, this will be half the class time, with the other half devoted to speaking, reading, writing, listening, and other ways of applying and growing the language. If not, we will incorporate more advanced materials to challenge and grow Spanish acquisition by each student.
The class size is generally small, so students have ample opportunity to speak, interact and engage with the material.

(If coming from Spanish 3 from a different source or curriculum, please read the descriptions for Spanish 1, 2 and 3 — the method is different and it will help give you a picture of what happens in class.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The actual time of the class will be decided by first enrollees — it will either be 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. This, too, may change. Please contact instructor to find out more.
