Music Class: Books of the Bible

In this 2-session class, students will learnt to sing 2 different songs: Old Testament Books of the Bible and New Testament Books of the Bible. No prior knowledge is required. 

These classes give parents an opportunity to preview my teaching style to see if they want to sign their child up for one of my semester-long Music classes. These classes can be taken as stand-alone 2 session classes as well.

To begin, students will learn the solfege syllables (do, re, mi) and basic rhythms that will be used in the songs. Echo-singing and PowerPoint slides will be used to aid in learning the books of the Bible. At the end of each class, we will sing each song with both piano and ukulele accompaniments.

Students will have access to the lyrics of both songs in PowerPoint and pdf formats, as well as piano and ukulele accompaniments for each song to sing along with.

I have taught these songs in many Christian school Music classes and the students have always loved them. They have been sung at Grandparents Day programs, school Chapel services and at concerts. 

Learning the books of the Bible in order will aid in them being able to look up verses in the Bible easier. What better way to learn the books that through song?
