This is an intermediate course designed for students who have completed Latin 1 or the equivalent introductory Latin study. If you are interested in this course but have not taken Latin 1 from Mrs. Eagleson, you will first need to register for the placement test in order for me to assess your ability level and confirm that Latin 2 is an appropriate fit.
Latin 2 uses Cheryl Lowe’s First Form Latin, which establishes mastery of all first and second conjugation indicative verb forms as well as all five noun declensions. It also reviews vocabulary from Latin 1 and adds over 75 new vocabulary words to the student’s lexicon. Brief Roman history lessons and classical sayings round out the curriculum to provide context for the language lessons. Classroom sessions will focus on drilling vocabulary, explaining grammatical concepts, answering questions, and developing an appreciation for ancient Roman literature, history, and culture.
Class meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 – 4 p.m. ET.
