In this teacher-taught course, I will guide students through plane Euclidean geometry.
Your student will learn the foundations of Geometry, including the logic of proofs and real-world applications. The course will cover the concepts of congruence, similarity, transformations, and the beginnings of trigonometry. Students will learn formulas and theorems related to polygons, circles, and solid geometric figures.
The class will have 32 live one-hour meetings. In class, students will learn new material through guided notes, practice problems, and activities. After class, the student will engage with the material through homework assignments. Occasional supplemental video lessons will also be assigned as homework.
My goal is to make this class fun, engaging, and applicable to the student’s life.
I have successfully taught students Geometry for over twenty years in a variety of school settings. I’ve worked with students who have learning challenges and high-achieving students, and many students in between. I bring these experiences to the classroom. I know which content can be challenging, and have developed a variety of methods to help learners succeed.
