Let’s go on an adventure together!
In this class students will embark on an adventure around the world with me as
their tour guide. They will also be armed with a travel guide. On each
continent students will not only learn facts but see landmarks, animals and be
introduced to the culture. They will have a chance to share what they have
learned through a fun project and a travel journal.

Topic 9: Review and Project
Essential skills like map terms,
landforms, and the continents are introduced in this course. These topics are
foundational geography knowledge blocks that will be built upon as they advance
in social studies learning. Students will not only be introduced to geography
but history and culture as well.
I love history and learning about
other cultures. Geography is one of my favorite ways to explore these topics as
geography has a great influence on culture. I minored in History and Sociology
and love researching and studying historical topics. Learning how to research
is an important skill to learn that will be built upon and used as students
advance through learning. I believe that learning is an adventure! Learning can
be and should be fun and exciting. I love history because I feel like a
detective searching through clues to discover about some other time and
culture. My goal as a teacher is to introduce students to the fact that history
can be fun and exciting. I love to incorporate projects or activities into my
classes because I feel like this allows students a chance to engage and connect
creatively with the knowledge that they are gaining. It takes a topic that many
people find to be boring and make it fun and engaging.
