Algebra 1 is the foundation of your child’s mathematics “career”. Therefore, although most parents feel like they can do Algebra 1 on their own, I would encourage you to consider enrolling your child in this teacher-taught foundational mathematics course. Even if you don’t believe your child will use mathematics in his/her future career – having strong math skills are essential to score well on the “new” SAT. Unfortunately, colleges use SAT scores for not only acceptance into their school – but in awarding scholarships.

All tests are given and corrected by the teacher. Homework is also checked weekly for accountability :-).

I will be using the Saxon Algebra 1 textbook as the basis of this course. Please note, that there will be a placement test to check for readiness for Algebra 1. This course is for the more academically advanced student who will be taking the SAT. If your child needs Algebra 1, but you would like a course more suited for someone who struggles with math, I am also providing a slower-paced Algebra 1 course :-).

If this section fills up, I will open another section.
